Default Is my ac high pressure switch/sensor bad?

Just had the low pressure sensor replaced (was leaking) had it recharged. AC will blow cold, but doesn't seem to strong. Feels really strong at night. But the ac will blow hot sometimes for a few seconds then it will kick back to cold? any ideas.

Default Re: Is my ac high pressure switch/sensor bad?

Verify that the radiator fan is working when the AC is on. The fan is used to cool the freon as it passes through the condenser (boyle's Law, relationship between pressure and temperature on gases). If the pressure gets to high then the high pressure sensor will kick off the compressor.

Also check and verify the recirculation flap is closed to the outside air otherwise you will be trying to cool outside instead of recirculating the inside air which is already cool. BTW the default is that the outside flap is open which might explain why it seems cooler in the evening.

Default Normally, even with the A.C. on, outside air door is OPEN

I know that it seems wacky, but that's the way that the climate control system works on all of the 5000s. (The 100/200 and V8 cars may be different. Ich weiss nicht.)

Details of outside/recirc air doors operation:<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/v8/msgs/99739.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/v8/msgs/99739.phtml</a</li></ul>
