Default Ok Just for fun...

and since my car is running so well now, (touching wood) that I have nothing else to write about or ask, and I need to occasionally let ya'll know I am still alive, and maintain some sort of presence here...

I park my car in an underground garage, in the AM when starting the car, it seems to take about 2 or 3 cranks before it starts, definately NOT a problem, what is curious is...parked outside overnite, and it will start on the first crank...wierd...Yes??? No???...something to do with the cold start valve maybe?

Default Hmmm, my 200 does that too!

Mine is a 1990 200q.

When it's very cold outside, a cold start is instant.
But when it's about 40 above, 5-7 cranks.

I assumed it was leaky injectors, but the cold starts should be consistent then.
Had me scratching my head.

Exactly the way mine is. When it is below freezing it fires on the first turn and about 50 or so and it cranks 7-10 revolutions before firing. Last year it was not like this and started the same all the time. I suspected injectors but like you say, it don't add right. I wonder if it is a quirk of the cold start valve.

After driving it and parking for half an hour, it starts right up the same all the time regardless of temperature.

Check the ECT, engine coolant temperature sensor located on the back of the engine head. This sensor is also used by the ECU to determine how cold is the engine, which is also used to determine how long the cold start valve should fire.
