ok so i changed my engine mount this weekend.....
and at the same time gutted my poor constipated kitty kat....
so, after changing the mount, it was real trouble getting the cat back in....meaning there was a lot more room for it to fit in?! i got it in but don't like how much pull there is on the exhaust system from either end. Does that engine mount have any adjustment in it? i didn't notice/don't remember if there was a slot in there or not....i'm betting there was! I haven't found any relavent information anywhere on whether or not they're adjustable.
TIA

No adjustments that I'm aware of.
So, was it a difficult job? Any heads ups?
I'm still having hard shifting after replacing tranny mounts, thinking I may have a bad passenger side engine mount. Did you have to drop the subrame?

to test your engine mounts ...
to test your engine mounts you've gotta first pull the hand brake and stick the car into gear. Then proceed to power brake the car while revving the engine up and down. Have someone look at the engine and if they engine moves while you're power braking ... you've got a bad engine mount.

Subframe is pretty easy to take off but a pain to put back on! I haven't done the motor mounts but i have done the tranny mounts. From what i hear, loosen the mounts and just lift the engine above the bolt and replace. Not sure if the subframe must be out. Doesn't seem like it to me b/c it doesn't interfere w/ the engine too much. Unless you just wanna get a good place to lift it from. Then again you can just cherry pick it up from above to keep it suspended. Haven't BTDT so i'm talking just from sitting under the car.

smelly cat smelly cat .. its not your fault
i wouldn't recommend this b/c i had a bad cat on my old typ 89 Audi 90 and i had a hard time convincing people to drive w/ me. But it was fun to sit there and put the car in neutral while reving it and making motorcycle riders wince and tear behind me! ROFL!! Also .. no cats means for hard time ordering at McDonalds drive thru. BTDT! haha

sorry i didn't reply sooner will........
i had the head off the car, so the change was really easy. three bolts, support the engine, and get tricky with some wrenches. My old mount came out in a couple pieces, long time toasted. SJM has them for about $40, maybe a little more....with the head on, the EM gets in the way but it should still be doable with the heat shields out........
how many miles on yours? i can almost guarantee your mounts are bad if it has a lot of mileage...>120k....and a really easy way to test is to put a jack under the oil pan with a 2x4 and jack up the engine. better than straining your e-brake and clutch etc......
