Hey guys!! Does anybody know how to obtain the radio code from a regular Bose headunit out of a 200, but w/o the VIN??

Dealer says can't be done. Anybody know otherwise??

Find another dealer. They should be able to pull the code from the radio serial number. Many radio gets changed out by the dealership over the years and they never match. They will have to remove the radio in order to get the serial number.

Most dealers are charging $50 USD for this service now.

That's what I thought. This dealer told me that the code could only be obtained by using the VIN as a reference point, and then using the internet to access VW Canada's database and electronically retrieve the code. I know Hondas only need the serial number...and if VW uses a similar setup...how does the VIN come into play??

they need the vin to ensure it isnt stolen.. find a diff dealer
