Default rear upper control arm

so the rubber boots of the rear upper control arms on my 5k have torn and are making a very annoying CONSTANT squeak. I went to the dealership and they gave me a replacement part (443505351P) but the ball joint end that fits into the subframe is too short and does not allow for the nut to thread on more then one or two threads. they keep telling me the newer A6 takes the same part, which is clearly not true. does anybody have a part number i can go off of?

thanks in advance,

Eric

Default The Dealership.. Really???

First. 443 505 351P is the correct part for the left (drivers side).

The quattro rear suspension is pretty common for this part (same part fits almost all Q's from 1986 - 1998)

5000/100/200/V8/C4 Chassis

You may have just gotten a "bad" part, return it and check most online places rockauto, autohausaz, fap99 they should all have them for about $70.00.

i thought so too, because it also didnt come with a new nut. so i brought it back and had them bring out another one, also no nut, and it was the exact same thing. so unlessthey have a whole batch of bad parts... =/

i cant return the first one because i stripped the first thread or two off the end trying to draw it into the subframe. the picture on autohausaz looks right, is it the same part for the passenger side also?

Further to my last post- I should have mentioned that the listing I have is for european 200q, but follows for V8 with numbers quoted earlier. So presumably, all is common to the North American cars also.

In the parts view for the rear x-member, 443505101H is also listed from chassis F 44-G-073 363>> Which implies an earlier part before this.

There are 2 versions of the complete track control arm assembly, with the change for components listed at chassis F 44-G-073 363>>
443505351(2)N up to, and P after the break point.

Inner Ball heads are available individually, after the break point, but not before.
(2) 443505365D
ball head / F 44-G-073 363>>
left inner /
(2) 443505366D
ball head / F 44-G-073 363>>
right inner /

My ur has several items that should be on earlier cars due to change in break points, and also has parts that should be on later cars. Sometimes, using up old stock muddies the water here.

My conclusion. You might need to either find an individual inner joint from another source, or replace the crossmember (pain in the behind, I know.)

I hope all that makes sense
