i know axels are really expensive and could be a pain to replace them.

if i were you, i'll go new unless you can rebuild used Axels and redo the bearing and grease them up, but i stay away from most of used Axels, bombs etc.... Just that i had previous experiences with bad used parts.
Anything called heavy on wear around the drive train is something i stay away from. "but that's me"

I just had my Axels and bearings replaced a week and half ago, but i got lucky. My Axels was under warranty after 9 months of use.

Good luck

I just ordered some rebuilt axles from napa...they were much cheaper than cv joint kits. i think they were 260 for both front axles and then you get 100 back after core return...so 80 bucks each for remanufactured axles...not bad. I think installation is easier that way too... I'll let you know a few hours after they arrive. Oh, I ordered them from napaonline.com

I just replaced my LF axle two days ago. I decided to go with a used one due to the cost factor, other issues with the car have just drained me recently. I bought mine from Chris at Force5, $40 plus shipping.. www.force5auto.com. It looked to be in good shape and drives fine, shipping was quick too.

Default Autozone.com has pretty good ones

I replaced my left front driveshaft assembly. Only 59.99 after the core refund.... can't beat that...

Jon,
Can you keep me posted on how you replaced your complete axle. I plan on doing this in the near future. Does the ball joint have to be removed from the wheel hub assembly?

Default Larry, I'll keep you posted and I'll

even take pictures along the way. I'm still unsure of the best way right now, but I'll try to provide some info that might speed things up for you.
