SEM switch
For V8 owners broad question. I know the S tranny mode will hold shifts longer, I was curious as to what the avg roadspeed was for the S mode to drop from 3rd gear to 4th once steady tavel vs acceleration is established.

Re: SEM switch
It depends on the TPS. If the TPS is at a state that will allow steady travel the trans will automatically (almost instantly) go into overdrive.
For me I think it's like 50-52MPH range..

Re: SEM switch
HHMM, 2 replies and 2 diametrically opposed answers. My experience, at the moment, is that mine does not drop down at all at noted by Mr. Goodbytes in an otherwise no issue tranny. I'm a bit surporised if this is the case as it is not addressed in any literature I've seen and I'd think that would be good to know.

Re: SEM switch
You are correct.. I mis-read the original question.
I though you were looking for when you switched back into "E". (from Sport Mode)..
MrGoodBytes is correct.. staying in "S" will hold third..

Re: SEM switch
Well it only took me 2 years of ownership to use the S mode! Very big difference around town. Glad to know I don't have a tranny issue, though I can't believe Audi doesn't clue in, the clueless owner, somewhere.
Thx
