The small wire to my starter is in bad shape,
from the wiring diagram it goes back to the ign. switch.
Can I just run a new wire from the Ign. to the starter or are there other connections on it?

Your probably don't need to go all the way back to the ign switch. The first foot or two are probably the only really bad wire [if that much]. Just splice in some good when you find good.

I'm pretty sure it comes from the fusebox..
I'm pretty sure it comes from the fusebox, as the starter feed has to go through the 'anti theft' relay business.
Nothing says you can't go straight to the ign switch though...
