Default Starter with high pitch

I get a short high pitch sound which indicate the starter is going out. How long should I expect to use this ? On My Mazda RX7, it was almost 2 years before it really failed.

Default Mine has done that intermittantly for 3 years..........

I hope it isn't going soon either, but my impression is it isn't.

Default rather easy to R & R a starter with a rebuilt unit.........

just two long bolts, and the electrical connections to deal with. Takes maybe half an hour to complete the switch. It is worth the peace of mind to replace, otherwise that starter will fail you at the most inopportune time..........Rooster
