Default Starting

OK when i start my car when it is cold, it will start perfect sometiems and others it starts, tries to stay running but dies. second start always works fine, this only happens on coldstarts if i start if after it has been running it is fine. Is this leaky injectors for sure or is it maybe somthign i can clean out? thanks guys!

BTW i love 10 degree weather

IMO...
I'd assume the main injectors have lost pressure due to leakage. The initial startup causes the CSV to fire a shot of gas into the manifold and the car starts right up, but the main injectors haven't built enough pressure yet to spray. The CSV couldn't sustain idle on its own, so the car dies. By the time you crank it a 2nd time, there has been enough rpms to trigger the fuel pump, and time for the main injector lines aft of the fuel distributor to repressurize. 2nd start is successful because the main injectors can now hold idle.

Stumbling is usually a sign of vacuum leaks, timing a bit off, or mixture out of spec.

I noticed my CSV only squirts when the weather is VERY COLD, like way below freezing. IMHO, it should work anytime under 50*F. Maybe a temp sender is bad. But I haven't worried about it since my car starts within 3 sec of cranking.

Default Blue smoke?

If the injectors are leaking into the cylinders it's usually a problem between 5-30 minutes after shutting down. They take a few minutes to leak enough to get too much fuel in the cylinders. You might notice blue smoke when it does start. After 30 or so minutes I guess the mist puddles into the bottom of the cylinder where it doesn't have much effect, and the cold engine likes rich mix anyway. You can pull the injectors and watch them after shutdown to see if they're dribbling.

Bad check valve is also a hot engine won't start issue, the fuel boils in the rails over the hot engine, not a problem with a cold engine.

Default ya, no blue smoke, ill look again tomorrow...

But ive never seen any smoke of any kind come out. I always kind of assumed injectors and didnt want to pay for new ones but the thing is usually if ive started it at least once, it starts fine the whole day.

Thanks for the help guys.
