Stumble at low RPM/high load???
Patient is my 86 5kcstq with 1.8 bar chip, wg spring and single-pass IC. It has developed a stumble at lower rpm's, up to about 3k rpm when boost is building, then she takes off like a shot, with full boost indicated. Plugs have been pulled and inspected, all appeared fine, then re-torqued. All ignition component connections have been secured. Good spark appears to be getting to all 5 cyls.
I can not find a vacuum leak, although I have not fully pressurized the system, I did spray some brake cleaner around the vacuum/breather/boost plumbing, and I could not get a surge while idling at all.
Car does not start as well as it used to, but it does start every time. Car idles at the correct engine speed, but it is a little rough. Someone suggested adjusting the CO mixture on the fuel dist, as the weather has recently turned a bit cooler here in Maine.
Any suggestions, BTDT please?

Re: Stumble at low RPM/high load???
just some quick thoughts in no particular order.
> spark plug wires / check , are any of the actual wires shorting out causing this problem ?
car will run rough until it hits higher rpm.
> have you pulled the codes ?
> are the fuel injectors leaking , causing hard start ?

-The sp wires appeared to be fine, I replaced them with oe Bosch units a year and a half ago. More are on order, as the car has been sitting with only sporadic use since last winter. I don't believe this is the problem, but I can't rule it out either.
> have you pulled the codes ?
-No, I haven't. How is this done on a MAC11 ecu?
> are the fuel injectors leaking , causing hard start ?
-I don't believe so. No pooling of gas around the injectors, and no odor of gas in the motor after killing ignition.

Nevermind on my question about pulling codes-I just pulled the info from Scott Mockry's web site-thanks.

Re: replace the plugs.
Thanks-full tune up coming upon receipt of parts. BTW-following an hour flog with at least one full boost pull in 3rd, the ecu stored no fault codes-just the blinking "4444" all-clear...
