V8 Quattro Idiot Display
Folks, does anyone know how to disable the idiot display in the center of the instrument cluster on a 1990 V8Q ? Is there a magic fuse to pull that will turn the idiot message display off but leave the rest of the instrumentation operational ? Mine is giving me nothing but false messages and is driving me nuts, but the analog guages are all correct. Have tried tracing wiring, grounding points, etc to no avail. Any help would be most appreciated.

I may be wrong, but the idiot display has a few messages that don't get flagged anywhere else, such as Oil low pressure, coolant. So while you may get an oil pressure reading, the critical warning would be lost!
It may be a UK market variation.
On my car, the only false warning is the brake pads, which is a damaged wiring issue.
The other previous false warning turned out to be real- coolant level. It was a precursor to a different problem all together.
As Gedis asks- What's the warning. It might be better to address the source of spurious warnings.

What's the warning.... All of them. Low coolant with a full reservoir, low oil pressure with the needle gauge pegged (yes, tested it independently with a pressure gauge, it's fine), low fuel with a full tank, low battery with 14V at the terminals...
