I think that I have narrowed down a leak location. It is @ the x-pipes. I just don't know what it is leaking. I ran my fingers through the dripping liquid and think it is transmission fluid not oil but I just dont know. I can smell it burn off and it smells like oil. But this is comming from me who doesnt really know lots about this stuff. the ends of the small intermediate driveshaft between the center dif and the front dif....at least that's where mine is leaking from. I initially thought it was the tail shaft seal at the rear of trans (where the main drive shaft attaches). But mine is dry there. Mine is leaking at both the differentials at the shaft. And it will leak a pretty good amount too. Just wait to you drop the exhaust and the shield that protects the shaft, and you will find that the center diff is leaking even more than the front.

I have to think that other folks must have tackled this problem, as I now know of three V8's that are experiencing the very same leak. I have begun the process of investigating the repair, without removing the trans. I know of one other former V8 owner that repaired his leaks without removing the trans.
