Window motor question - '90 100
All of my windows. except the driver's, have been dead for a few months. A friend tried the passenger's today and it went down. Now it won't come up. I have power at the switch. I have tried several switches, it won't come up. I suspect the motor. Will the motor from a 5000 fit? Is it easier to pull the whole frame with motor and all than fool around trying to replace the motor?

b4 messing with the motor and switches check the wiring between the drivers door and the left kick panel. The rubber accordian thing contains a bunch of wires that tend to get broken from flexing. This affects the power mirrors to. Check each wire by bending it because they get broken inside the insulation.
You can also get some slack by loosening a connector in the kick panel.

Have you tried jumpering the motor back up? I'm pretty sure that if a motor will go down, it should go up
I really think you have a bad wiring issue as Tony mentioned. I'd look in the drivers side door jamb since all your windows(besides driver)are having problems. You probably have 4-5+ broken or frayed wires lurking in there...
And yes, a window motor from a 5000 will fit...

Yes. the wires going to each door for both up and down. I suppose at least six of them. If you electric mirrors are having problems this is probably the cause too.
Really a fairly easy job. If you remove the kick panel youcan get a little slack for working.
