Window Problems
I put my passenger side window down this morning on my 5000 and guess what! It has decided not to come back up. Does anyone know how I can get this window back up? Has anyone ever just gotten the window pulled back up and just not use the window again until you can come up with the money to fix it? It was half way down when I wanted to put the window back up. I pushed the switch and nothing happened. I pushed the switch for the window to go down and it worked. So I guess the switch works going down and not up. If anyone can be of help on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had this same problem on my 5000s. It turns out the contacts in the switch oxidize and then they don't make contact. Pull the switch and swap it with a switch from another door to see if this is the problem. If it is Take two small flat head screwdrivers and and gently pry both sides of the switch housing out as you pull on the electrical connectors on the bottom of the switch housing. The housing should separate from the switch. Take some 800 or finer grit sandpaper and cut a small piece appx 4mm x 1.5cm. Place this between the contacts and push and pull it now flip it over and do it again. There are 4 pairs of contacts. You may as well clean them all as long as you have the switch out. Use an ohmeter to check the continuity between the contacts. When the contacts are closed the resistance should be less than 1 ohm preferably less than .5 ohms. When the contacts are open the resistance should either be open or greater than 15 Megaohms. I had to do this to every one of my window switches as well as repair the broken wires in the drivers door. Anyway it'll save you the $15 a new switch will cost you.
