Default What do you need to know?

I did it on my 5ktq.

It's still in it's infancy but it's running pretty darn good.

Default as much as possible ;p

did you get a full kit (all new wiring, ecu ..)?
how difficult was it to put it in , how much work ?
do they give you straight directions for the 5 cyl audi ? or you have to adapt that from some general instructions ?
what did you have to do with the "program" to get the car run , did they give you a base program that is somewhat made for this engine? plug in and play ?
i have a bare engine(no wiring, no ecu and only couple sensors on it) so ineed to do everything for the damn thing.. and i'm not very good/ no patience with "spageti type stuff " wiring that is .
Thanks!

Default Geez, where to start?

First off, I didn't get a kit per say...

The ECU parts were bought and soldered together. Jim did the soldering for me.

I bought the sensors and DB37 cable from www.rs-autosport.net.

Installation wasn't the worst thing.

The main problem was getting the 034 fuel rail to stop leaking. I must have spent 4-5 weekends messing with that damn thing. BTW, I hate AN connections now :P

The actual MS installation was pretty staright forward. When I did run into some problems they were pretty easily sorted out by talking to the right people.

I used a relay board on my project. This made things simple for me. I only had to splice into one connection under the dash. Others prefer to splice most connections right at the ECU and not use the realy board.

There is no base map or instructions for a 5 cylinder included. You'll have to ask, beg, borrow people to get the info you need or spend alot of time tinkering. I was lucky to have John, Nate, Jeff and Cody send me some of thier maps so I could compare them. I also did alot of tinkering.

It took me sometime to get the cold starting under control. I had to change a crapload of settings to get it just right. It runs great now...just need to tune some of the higher bins under boost.

Oh yeah, make your life easier by buying a wideband O2 to tune. Trust me.

LMK if you have any other questions.

Default my problem would be the wiring .. that is just my nightmare..

i wish i'd only be held back by a leaking fuel rail ..i'd weld that bish and be done wit it ;p
see i don't know anyone that would have a clue about the wiring and the ecu stuff .. and i'm afraid that i will get stuck on this crap and painfully pay for going the cheaper way .
it would be awesome to have someone that did all this to compare stuff with .
and don't forget that i have a bare motor , the wiring on it it's useless imho .. so i'd need everything from scratch .
where are you located ?
i'm west of Philly PA.
