1996 Cabriolet Key
I have a 1996 Audi Cabriolet. Forgive me if this question is silly, but does this key have a chip in it? If not, can I order an uncut Audi key and have it cut, or will I have to do anything special? Any suggestions on where to get another key?

I have a 1997 Audi Cabriolet, and my key does not have a chip. But I'm on ths same page as you, I'm looking for a extra key since I only have one. No hardware shops around here have uncut keys. I think you may have to go to a dealership to get one, but I'm not interested in spending that much money. I was going to try and contact a locksmith and see if they have uncut keys. Or try and order one online. But I don't know lol.

I just went to a lock shop and got my key copied (`97 Cabrio). They tried to tell me that it needed a chip in it, but it doesn't. They actually ended up using a VW blank key. It works perfect and cost me $1.87
