1997 Audi Cab 2.6 Manual Roof Problem
Hi
Currently my boot is locked and will not unlock I believe due to the fact the roof compartment lid won't close and lock properly.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated?
Also the release button inside the driver's door for the compartment hasn't worked for years but up until this week i could still open the compartment lid using the manual levers.
Again any help or idea's to rectify this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

To get the "boot" open you have to do some work..remove the rear seat and woofer then get back to the latch..see the instructions at cabrio-info...open in Chrome and do a translate on the page to english: See the linkhttps://www.audi-cabrio-club.info/fa...=49&artlang=de
Most often the convertible top problems..including the boot not opening are the electrical cables that run around the boot hinges..they break and cause all sorts of problems. Again from cabrio-info: https://www.audi-cabrio-club.info/fa...=16&artlang=de

Thank you sooo much for the links, I would never have found all that
Any thoughts about the actual microswitches being a problem rather than the wiring?
Again thanks for all your help

Best bet is to buy or find a VCDS for trouble-shooting the mirco switches. You have a 2.6 manual roof..which was not imported to the USA..I think..so you may have to find a VCDS supplier in your home county. Here in the USA it costs about $200..
Audi-Cabrio info has some FAQs too for easier to test connections.
