In the 17 years I've had my '91 CQ, the exhaust donut between the downpipe and
the CC seems to thinout and springs an exhaust leak every 2-3 years, requiring
its replacement.

Can anyone suggest a more lasting solution or a more durable, flexible donut?

I believe this a 3" donut, correct?
