Default 95 90q suspension question

I recently purchased a 95 90q. I was looking over it and noticed that it seems like there's a grommet missing in the upper part of the suspension (where the nut attaches to the strut.)

I wanted to check with you all and see it this is normal, or if I'm missing a piece.

Here are some pictures to better describe what I'm talking about.

The first image is of the car on the ground.

The second image is of the car raised with the wheel off the ground. This piece (and the whole front suspension) drops down. This seems strange to me. Am I missing something in there? It's the same on both sides.

And this picture is what happens when a tree attacks a 100.

Default looks ok to me

strut mount even appears to be not as collapsed as it could be.

Default That's fine. All that holds the top end of the strut in place is the weight of the body...

and that big gold cap thing is all that keeps the strut assembly from falling out of the strut tower when you go jump off a dirt pile behind a shed in Hazzard.

Default OK, thanks guys, I was just wondering. I've actually been on the board for a long time, just in...

the 100 forum. And I couldn't remember by password or what email I used to create that account, so I just made a new one.

So far, I like the 90, but I'd have to say that the 100 is overall, a little more solid.

And Cq20V, I've often considered painting it like the general lee. Just think how the dukes could have out run the law and the bad guys if they had been driving a quattro down those gravel roads.

Be sure to weld the doors shut while you're at it!

Oh, I would have already, but the fumes from welding galvanized steel will kill you.
