Alex, you were right... I drilled a small hole in the strut housing...
and water pored out like a fountain. I'm wondering if I should seal the hole, or leave it open?

This was on a C4 100/A6...
but the same principle applies to a 90 with bilstein shocks. OEM shocks are a bit wider, and fill the entire strut housing, there will be no gap. The A6 had 1-2mm of space between the inner wall of the strut housing and outer wall of the shock.
