Almost burnt my face off.... i hate cooling system in this car!!!
Ok, so trying to bleed the cooling system on my B4, and just like anyone else, the stupid crew on the heater core hose is busted off. and for some reason i keep building up steam in that hose, so i went to pop the hose off, and BOOOOM... a $hit load of steam and coolant just busts out of that hose and knocks me half way across my garage, thanks god for the mechanic gloves and good reaction [i gause i wont have kids;-) ]. First thing, I'm ordering a new hose with a working screw! But my questions is what can cause that? the thermostat and water pump are brand new from VW/Audi. Is there a way to replace that screw with something else if i can get it out? I didnt find anything in FA about replacing that screw :-(
I swear, this car is hating me more and more...

LP... you still got a pic of that setup I had in my old 90q?
The previous owner had installed one of those kits you'd use to flush a coolant system. Plastic 'T' with a cap you take off to introduce water from a hose.
Just plumbed it in-line with the existing hose.
But I've never had a problem with just pulling off the end of the hose just enough to let out the air and a bit of coolant. Ya, don't do it when the system is hot/pressurized.

You're supposed to open the bleeder while it's cold, let it warm up, give it a chance...
...to let the air escape. Once you get a dribble of coolant you close it.
