I'm going to look into seeing of the UUC shifter will fit the older 01A's in the CQ and B4q. But, that won't happen until November when the other roommate with the A4 1.8tq gets the UUC for his bday. If you can wait, I'll be letting the forum and 20v list know the outcome. Otherwise, theres the Billzcat modified Benno shifter, and the DIY Benno shifter that both I and Miktip posted directions on how to make.

Nothing like looking out your window and seeing two K-series turbos, 62 valves, three torsens, and a "locker"...

I generally search the forum automatically. I was testing the waters to see if there was anything new around. I probably should have indicated that I was looking for anything other than what's been posted in the past. Those short shift kits are still being sold on ebay (Billzcat) but they're a bit expensive and you gotta wait for the auction to end, etc.

All you need is these parts! ;o)

Shift Pivot Assembly official name: Bearing for gearshift lever, VW PN: 171-711-247. You will need to modify this piece. There are two mounting holes which nearly line up with the mounting hole on the car (see notes below)
2. Pressure Spring, VW PN: 823-711-197 A
3. Washer VW PN: N-011-547-6

& can make your own! Its what I did! ;o)
