The S2 and RS2 bumpers DO get rid of the actual aluminum bumper, as it is part of the DOT setup and not compatable with the european factory items.

Default As i said....

what are you guys think they are worth. My first one will encompass the original cost of the mold and time to make it.

They will be B4 style hoods.

Default Does that mean you have no front crash protection with the new bumpers ?

Is there anyway to fit that big beam back in ? It always seemed liek a good idea to have something solid in front of the car.

The European bumpers have a 5km/h rating on them (roughly 3mph). I've been backed into by a ghetto-hooptie Caprice, that managed to scuff up my RS2 lens on the pass. side and break his brakelamp lenses out. Only thing that happened to the OEM S2 bumper was that it was pushed backwards a bit (the mounts provide for some movement, around a inch to 1.5").

The bumpers have around 2" of honeycomb plastic behind the leading edge to help damp the impact as well, runs between the foglamps. If you look at the pics of Olivers crunched 1.8t "RS" 80, you can see the honeycomb substrate. Not even a B4 bumper would have helped him there.

No matter what most people say, the factory S2 and RS2 bumpers are not that inept at taking a hit. Most of those people are going off of what others say, and likely neither party has actually owned an S2 or RS2 bumper from the factory.

If they have the mold, they can make a carbon fiber hood...
