Default I had Yellow's on my old Alfa GTV and Red's on my 6-Pack Aussie Charger....

My understanding is that the Yellow's are the "Sport" model and are adjustable for both compression & rebound, while the Red's are the standard replacement and are only adjustable for compression.

As for Koni Black, I've never heard of them, but that means almost nothing as I'm often told that I'm out of touch. Perhaps they're a new model, or on the otherhand perhaps you've been bull****ted.....

Default yellow here ...what year? model?

I think you'll find most of the applications for 80/90, CQ, anything in the B3-B4 model yrs to be yellows. As they are the sport line, and only line offered for these cars I believe.

There's also a red line which is closest to stock. Not sure if they have any applications for our model yrs.

Check out their site, or give em a call to find out.

http://www.koni-na.com/products.cfm#special</a

Default sounds like I was lied to

this car is new to me and I'm just getting around to checking things out. I talked to koni and they should be yellow. It's possibly someone painted them but I don't see why they would go through that effort. I gotta check part #'s to figure this out for sure.

Yellow - KONI Sport Adjustable. "Sport" Valving, adjustable rebound damping. All external adjusting versions will come yellow.

Reddish/orangy sorta color - KONI Special Adjustable "Comfort" valving. Internally adjustable for rebound damping. Designed as an OE replacement valving.

Black - KONI Classic. Designed for classic and older model vehicles. Not normally available for modern vehicles.

KONI Race shocks are typically available in various colors like Silver and Red. These are typically threaded body shocks with aluminum bodies. These aren't designed as direct replacement shocks.
