Default Audi 80 idle fail

Hi I have a 1992 Audi 80 quattto. Original it has the abk engine but i have Change to the 9a engine but i use the original fuel injection from the abk engine. My problem is the car hunts on idle. If i stop the car and disconects the coolant temp sensor then start again it runs fine While sensor is disconected but hard to start. Any suggestions

Hunting is a sign of too rich a mixture unless it is the electronics not compensating correctly. Clean your air idle valve, use a bottle of Techron fuel injector cleaner, and make sure your temp sensor is not wet on the contacts or reading the wrong ohms for the correct temperature.
