I was starting to worry about you!
I saw a thread where someone put a v8 on a coupe quattro. Can't remember which forum though. It looked crazy but fun.
Good luck

lol, im still around, and no, they did not send me to a gulag :-) its summer, and riding season for me, i haven't driven the audi in about 2 weeks now, plus the audi cant beat 35mpg in town and 46 on the highway :-)
I've ran across that thread a long time ago, he also managed to install twin turbos on it.
cuatrokoop: I started a thread on MG already, tried STFA and nothing on the B4 conversion :-(

One part you need for the swap is this gray parcel shelf knee bar sitting in my garage! j/k
Good luck, please make a thread and document it with pics, you will be my HERO. I like the v6, I don't think I could ever own a 5-cylinder, but like you I want more power... A v8 would be awesome.
I decided to sell this 90 and I'm going to either put the money into my Porsche or see what kind of car I find, maybe another 90? Alfa 164?

i dont like tubro engines, and figuring, a V8 is my best option for power :-)
unfortunately this is a 3.6l V8 (as i found out a little bit latter) but its still gonna get me in 250hp's, so it will still be good :-)
i will start a thread, but its mostly likely will be on MG, and ill just post a link to it here :-)
i still want that trey, ill c if i can do next paycheck ;-)

There are no easy swaps into this lump of a car. Firstly, all audi engines will bolt up to the stock tranny so that makes things easier. But from there, you need parts from europe or custom parts to swap in anything else.
A 30v is a straight bolt in, but the exhaust manifolds will have to come from the european 1997 C4 30v Avant.
The 2.2 I5 can use the mounts from the B3 chassis, but the battery, radiator and condenser are all in the way of the motor so they will have to be relocated.
A 1.8T will need either custom motor mounts or factory mounts from the 4 cylinder european B4s. Actually, come to think of it, the 4 cylinder motor is just a 5 cylinder with 1 cylinder chopped off so it might be possible to use the B3 mounts to put in a 1.8T, thereby making it the easiest swap. This has to be looked in to.
In either case, the wiring will need to be redone for any one of these swaps.

Here's a guy who swapped in a 2.5 TDI motor into his B4:
