Ball joint nut and pinch bolt size.
Hey everyone,
Am going to change the ball joints on my 1996 cabriolet and was wondering what the size of the three nuts that hold the ball joint on are. Also need the pinch bolt and nut sizes as my ball joint did not come with any nuts or bolts.

The pinch bolt and nut should really be replaced every time you remove them.
N0347784 M10x50x24 pinch bolt
N0211955 nylock nut for pinch bolt can used for the BJ lower mounting studs too.
N10286110 shouldered self locking nut M10 serves same purpose as above slightly cheaper and you may get sent them when you order the nylock version
due to supercessions anyway.
Some new ball joints come w/ hardware depending on brand.

For future reference to other owners, the ball joint nuts and the pinch bolt nut are grade 10, M10 x1.5
The pinch bolt is grade10, M10x1.5x50 with a 24mm shoulder for the ball joint.
Ribbed Flange nuts are recommended by Audi to replace the previous nut with washer. This will up the torque to 63ft/lb with the ribbed flange nuts, and washer is no longer needed.
