Default Tackled the cv boot replacement today. What is the trick to driving...

the cv off the end of the axle with the big bolt? I'm stuck now cause I can't get the cv off. The bolt just seems to bottom out. Even put a 8mm socket in before the bolt thinking it would give the additional length I needed. ha Pushed the socket in with the bolt. Nothing, same deal, bottomed out the bolt. Hope someone can enlightened me as I need the car for Monday. What size are the 6 bolts going into the transaxle? Differnt then a torx, more smaller teeth. I could not locate one at Napa.

P.S. The upper pinch bolt was hell! Glad I bought spare. My TRE bolt seems seized up too.

Default you need to keep tightening that bolt once its out of the knuckle..it will POP

off the shaft...just keep tightening, it will pop off eventually.

Default on my 01 the bolt just bottomed out and I had to drive the CV off with a drift. On my friend's '00

the bolt popped the CV off. So I think there is a difference between the parts used.

yeah it's a 10mm stock, but most aftermarket kits use 12mm triple square (12pt)
