Default Running 245/40/17 on 8x17 A6 4.2 wheels and 15mm spacers...

But there is a lot of rubbing. I'm planning on a new set of wheels/tires/spacers soon. I did read an article in European Car a while back where a guy put wider tires on front, something crazy like 285 on the front and 255 in the rear to help cure the understeer problem. Sounded interesting and the guy writing the article stated the car handled phenomenally.

Default where is it rubbing? inside? fender?

yeah, i've heard of people putting wider tires on the car up front to help with the understeer but i'd think that maybe using a 4kq sway bar will help create more oversteer.

Default It will not oversteer with a 4Kq swaybar on the rear unless you drive like a moron...

which is still not oversteer per se. The *chassis* still understeers under steady-state handling. Doing things like lift-throttle, left-foot-braking, etc. are transient driver techniques and have nothing to do with the chassis handling characteristics. These can be done in any car. If you rip the handbrake in a Honda Civic and spin around it doesn't mean it's an oversteer car.

Default 2nd, I have a 26mm 4kq swaybar on the rear of my coupe, it's raining here today...

and even with the slightly spirited driving I was doing the car wouldn't come around like my brother's bmw 325is. It still has that torsen in the middle that pulls you around the corners. Even when I pushed it a little it didn't really oversteer, just slid sideways around the corner.

Rubbing on the inside fender liner. Quite annoying.
