big suspension issue... with the H&R's need help! (long)
I ordered H&R's for my 88 90Q and ALL 4 of them are the same (marked Front), I checked with various sources and they say that all 4 springs should be the same on that car (I also found out the same springs fit a 90Q 20V). Well I installed the rear ones so far, but when I put the car on the ground, the rear didnt seem lower at all (strange)! And I'm positive I put everything together correctly. So today, I disassembled the passenger side Front spring , compared the two OEM springs to see that the front spring is one coil bigger(about an inch and a half taller) than the rear!
This kind of makes sense then, if I install a "Front" marked lowering spring in the rear that is soposed to make the car 1.25 inch lower, but it keeps it roughly the same hight, it most likely is the wrong spring for the rear?
So in other words I'm pretty sure that my 90 requires 2 different types of lowering springs for front and rear, not 4 of the same. I just called up to try to order Vogtlands (cause I thought perhaps H&R doesnt make the springs for my car) and the guy told me all 4 Vogtlands are the same too. Something has to be wrong here though, maybe my 90 is one of a bunch that has a different design or something(I wouldnt be suprised, its an Audi we're talking about). I really need help, the car is totally disabled now ;/
Thanks for listening, and any advice is greatly appreciated

Well first, did you measure ride height before and after the install, if so what difference did you
have?
And also remeber that their is still the possibility that the spring has not completely settled, granted visually the car should look a little lower.

Don't worry, it will settle
After installing mine (90q20v) i noticed the back was a bit high as well, it eventually settles down tho (cant remember exactly how long it took...). Even now the back is still a bit high with respect to the front (just visually, drives fine tho).
One thing to watch out for, make sure you install them with the dead coils towards the top of the car (coils thats are very close together). If you install them the other way, the coils rub the lower perch and make a really anoying sound... BTDT!
Enjoy your new springs!
