Bouncing revs...
So I've been having ISV problems lately (and will clean it this summer) but now I'm having a problem that I'm not sure is related or not.
Last week I made a 200 mile interstate trip and upon arriving and getting of the interstate (came to a stop w/the clutch in) the revs started QUICKLY BOUNCING between 1,000 and 3,000. The kind of bouncing that would happen if you were hitting the rev limited. I shut the car off, started it again and the problem went away. It comes and goes in differing intensity.
It was really strange; it wasn't the slow adjustment that usually happens when my car almost stalls - it was much more pronounced.
Any thoughts?

Happened to me as well, after a spirited run in with this fellow in a 2.7T A6
When I pulled over the car was violently cycling the idle, from 1k-3k, I turned the car off, turned it back on, still doing it. So next I turned it off, unplugged the harness to the ISV and blew dust out, plugged back in, and all was good.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/492998.phtml</a
