Default brakes

ive a got a 93 90, the rotors and pads were replaced about 35000 miles ago, how often should you replace the rotors? pads?, also what brand pads should i go with? another problem i am having is the parking brake is very very loose, it wont hold the car anywhere, is there a way to tighten the cable underneath the car? or is it something else i need to do to fix my parking brake?, any help would be appreciated, thanks Mark

Default Yes, you can adjust the parking brake if needed...

follow the cable from the rears to a location where the two become one, you should be able to figure out how to adjust. Bigger question is...

What axle are you going to do the brake job on? Also is you car FWD or Quattro?
