Broken cat replaced by dealer....rotten egg smell is back.
So one of my cats went bad, I got it replaced at the dealer. I still get the rotten egg smell, and it seems like it comes throught the vents sometimes. Exhaust leak? Is the other cat going bad? O2 sensors? I love my car, the interior and exterior are in great shape, but there's always some crap going on with the engine. It's very frustrating.

They didn't replace it because of the recall, they replaced it due to some federal law that..(edited
a car must past inspection for 8 yrs/80K miles. The recall was only for fwd with an auto transmission. Will only having one cat replaced do any harm? TIA.

Re: Will only having one cat replaced do any harm?
Seems Audi was trying to motivate customers into buying the other cat?
Very odd they only replace one cat in a 2 cat system.
Since one cat is only half your exhaust system, having the other cat go bad, will cause you problems. Mainly depends on how it goes bad?
The internals of mine, broke into pieces, and partially clogged the system. Very noticable loss of performance in the engine.
