Cooling fans on an ABC engined Cabriolet
Should one/both the cooling fans run all the time on a 2.6 ABC - it's in a cab, but guess would be same as other variants No A/C on this one.
Car heats up fine and at just over 90 the fans spin up at what I guess is high speed, cool it down etc... driving is fine, just thought they might run at slower speed all the time to keep things cooler - a two stage thing like my A4, which looks to run one fan all the time low speed, both kick in at a high speed with the A/C or when it gets to about 90ish
anyone...

sounds fine, a fan should not run whenever the car is running
it should turn on low around 90-95C, high probably around 100-105C. Your A4 had a mechanical fan probably that used the engine to turn it.

Yep, sounds right as I look at it now, one fan looks like it's off the engine as you say....so what I see on the cab at 90 is only slow speed !! Wonder if it could fly at full then, must be some rpm then !!
