Default Cooling problems...overheating??? 95 90Q

Just did the timing belt thermostat and the water pump and now the car overheats in traffic. Strangly the AC blows warm when it's over heating. Otherwise the AC is cold. Strange, since they're independent of each other. Any suggestions? If you switch the cooling fan wires what problems occur?

Default do your fans come on without A/C being on?

They should and if they don't check to see you connected the fans right, also, clean up the ground to the body with a wire tooth brush, some electrically cleaner in aersol can and some treat the area with some di-electric grease. Solved my problem after I did the same job you just did on my B4.

Quick chech-do your fans come on like airplane props. My 93 90cs was running on the hot side-found out that the high speed fans were not turning on. Ended up being the relay-$25 at a foreign autoparts place in Nashua NH-under the dash, replaced the relay-car ran nice and cold with the ac on in NYC traffic later that week-easy fix. Here's the diagnostic link...

http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/cooling.html#fan</a
