Default cruise control switch is busted (i think)

its not the "set" button, it is the "on" and "off" and "resume" switch. It moves freely on the path it is supposed to, but 9 times out of 10, it wont switch the cruise control from "off" to "on". I have a temporary solution to just leave it in the on position, now that i finally got it there, but i kinda wanna get it fixed if possible. Any suggestions?

replace the switch ;-)

You'll likely need to buy that half of the whole multi-function switch in order to fix the cruise switch.

Default In my experience, the CC breaks all the time in these cars.

Not worth fixing. IMHO.

Default Here's the switch/stalk assembly you'll need, cheapest I've seen one. . .

I've owned 3 old Audi's, CC worked great on all of them.

Default 3 Audi's here as well.

1991 CQ = broken
1993 90 = broken
2001 A4 = works but the car is still practically brand new

Default How do I know mine is broken?.

I know my cruise doenst work obviously but how do I narrow it down to the switch? I dont have the Bently so dont tell me to look there. Also the older 80/90 switch looks similar to my B4 90 switch, are they interchangable. Older 80/90 cars are plentiful at the yards here.

Default Re: Well, I just changed my whole switch cluster and it did nothing to help the CC.

I changed mine because someone busted it when trying to steal it, but I was hoping it would fix my CC problem and it didn't.
