Default Differential pressure regulator

I"ve got a 1988 90 5 cyl that has been having some massive problems lately, loss of power, smell of fuel from the engine compartment, and now it won't start at all. I"ve replaced the fuel filter which seemed to help it run for a couple days, now it won't start at all though. So anyway, I tracked the fuel smell down to the Differential pressure regulator. I"ve heard that the O-rings go bad on these and cause it too leak, could this also be a cause for my other problems? Does anyone know where I can get the O rings? HOw would I know if the Differential pressure regulator was bad? As always any help would be greatly apreciated!!!

Default Re: Fuel leaking from the diff vacuum system??...

...I dont think anyone knows what you mean, unless its just me.
A vacuum leak can result in poor running and possible no starting. The fuel smell makes me think you have a fuel pressure regulator leak...or maybe an injector line? Can you give us some more details? Have you checked for spark..pulled the codes...? Good luck with it.

The Differential pressure regulator is a bosch sensor on the front of the fuel distributor, I've read a bunch of posts on here about it leaking but I don't know where to find the o-rings, I would like to not deal with the dealer if possible. I've checked for vacuem leaks and there doesn't appear to be any, I would check for spark, but for one I don't have anyone to help me and I"m also afraid of making spark with a fuel leak in my engine.

Default Re: Differential pressure regulator

I changed the o rings on mine with success, but every time I try to change the regulator with a known good one, the car wouldn't run. It would only run with the original one on.
