diffrence between tranny's
(I may have asked this before)
I am showing 3 diffrent transmissions for my 1990 audi 80 2.0L 4cyl FWD whats are the diffrences and is there any advantage of one over the other? and can I use either one or do I have to get the one that I have now?

well, one was born a tranny, and the other was surgically enhanced.....
lol, not rly. I was showing 2 3spd auto trannies and one 4 spd, which would have been fitted to the fwd 5 cyl mdls (at least according to etka). Honestly, there probably is some difference between the 3spd transmissions since they are different part numbers, but I really doubt it's enough that one can't be substituted for another. I'm sure others here have more experience with it though

AUF is a 4.11 final drive tranny...
...P/N 012 300 045 AX
Which is specific to the 4-cyl (5-cyl cars are 3.89 final drive).
You might be able to use an AKL (which is an '88/'89 B3 tranny)...other than that, I think those are the only 2 4-cyl trannys that came to the US. AKL only uses 1 tranny mount versus 2 on the AUF...which may or may not be an issue.
