The windows go down, I released the handle. When I pull up the button to close the top I hear a click, but nothing further happens. It will not fold manually. I want to override the electric if possible and at least open everything up and have a look.

Default no don't do that, that's crazy talk. there is a way to open and close it in manual

but I don't remember how. I never had to do it with mine. You need to contact someone with the owners manual. be patient, someone here has that info.

Thanks, I just worry because the pressure on the back, where the window is, was tough. I couldn't get to the 90 degrees. Just made me nervous. I'll try with 2 people to even the resistance.

Default its does have resistance so don't be afraid to pull hard on it

but remember to also pull back on the front a little too, it makes it easier as that is how the top would open electronically.

also the probable cause that your top is not working is the same reason my stopped working a while back. The wires in the wiring harness in the trunk get cracked and lose the connection.

try searching for that one, plus there is a write up on it in the tech section above.

you can also find out exactlly why its not working by plugging into a vagcom scan tool. find someone local to you with one and read the codes (your check engine light may not even be on)
