Well, since my post seems to have dropped off the face of the planet (or at least at this point nobody would notice/look for it but me), and I cant bump the thread, I'm gonna try again. Heres the deal:

On my '88 90 Quattro, after ~ few mins of driving the check engine light in the dashboard begins to flash randomly. Sometimes it will come on and stay on, other times it will flash while I'm driving, idling, WOT, basically....randomly. The warmer the car gets, the longer it does tend to stay on (but like I said, its still random).

Any ideas? I pulled the codes while the light was on and I got the 4-4-4-4 (no codes), so I am stumped. It sounds like a loose connection, but I have no idea what/where it really is. Any ideas DEFINATELY appreciated.

P.S. The car doesnt idle properly. I cleaned the ISV, but didnt make a difference (unplugging it does nothing to the idle). It just seems to be fighting the idle (its never steady) and it also idles ~ 1000 RPM.

also check over/replace any vacume lines that lokk worn

thats all I can think of.

Just spray it around and wait to hear the engine rev up?

Are you thinking this will fix the idle or the CEL (or both?!)

Ummm...I dunno...never used it...but I do not see why not.
