grrrr wtf my car sucks
6 hours to
press in new wheel bearing, new cv joints and boots, install g60 brakes.
the old wheel bearing lock ring snapped nkugs90's plier and ended up using a beefier unit.
removed hub with hardware store bolts and hammer was used ot increase distance.
pressing out old bearing stressed out the 20 ton press, every mm the bearing moved sounds like a gun went off.
pressed in new bearing with old one on top and hammer for load distribution was cakewalk. new clip went in perfectly.
stressed out my 20ton press again this time removing the outer CV joint. sat the axle/cv over press plates and stuck a 3/8" extension in the bolt hole
and pressed.
now my car rubs on something turning left, it used ot rub turning right

You can use an axle bolt to pull a CV joint, no need for a press...
if something's rubbing the first thing I'd check is the brake splash shields, they can easily be bent toward the rotor and then rub in turns.

no shield, it has ot be removed to use G60 on a B3
the sound is brake rotor rubbing on the ball joint... wheel bearing was just installed and balljoint is only few months old..
oh the cv joint was on so tight it maxed out my press before separting. I hammered it for good hour or so and it didn't budge.

You like your car! 24/30mpg quattro 272 cam adjustable cam timing 2.5" cat-back
now go figure out whats making the noise!!! Give yourself a break. With a fresh mind, get back to it! If not, I'll save you the trouble and take your car for you.

I think you should buy that black 90 at todd's place...
and drop your engine in it. I know you think your engine is crappy but at least you will have a car with alot less problems then.
