Default guys with the 034 20v injector kit... longterm impressions? Fuel economy? Emissions? Power?

Dad just barely got the CQ to pass emissions testing, and while it drives well and pulls pretty well, it feels a tad sluggish to me, and the consumption gauge shows it's using more fuel than I'd expect.

Ya, probably needs an o2 sensor at some point.

I'm figuring the injectors are getting old, have high miles on them, and that the car would benefit from a new set.

Give me your impressions?
Fuel economy - better mileage, worse mileage, no noticeable change, I never look at my mileage rating.

Emissions - Better emissions results, poorer emissions results, I don't get emissions tested.

Power - Minor increase in the butt dyno, major increase in the butt dyno, no noticable difference.

General comments are appreciated.

Default placebo... as in you've tried them and found no differences? or...

you're just saying you don't think they do anything... and you haven't tried them.

Default Agreed. It also depends what kit you have though.

There's three out there. The first kit with red top Bosch injectors is said to offer no gains. The second and third kit bothn show HP gains. I have the third kit and it definately seemed to have more power and better throttle response. I get 30MPG on the highway too. City is still pretty bad though, I'd guess 17-18 MPG at best.

Default if I were you I'd be getting an o2 before the injectors...

I had way more of a difference power wise & mileage when I changed my o2 sensor. never realised juts how much of an affect it has on everything.

I also felt the power bump from the injector kit. Mileage improved on the highway but is still lacking around town. Feels more smooth while going through the higher R's..

Default Initial feeling was disappointing, but then I replaced the rear...

knock sensor and suddenly the car was transformed, pulling right to redline.

If the car feels like its running into a headwind above 3500 rpm or so, requiring you to push the gas pedal down hard, of course gas mileage would be terrible.

After I replaced the rear knock sensor ( didn't try just to loosen and re-tighten it) I starting seeing about 23 mpg city, 28+ highway...

Bottom line, knock sensor issue was NOT dropping a code - so make sure that the knock sensors, O2 sensor, vacuum lines are ok, the crankcase breather system is clear (especially the pipe from the block vent to the intake) etc

- it's like a tuning an engine, you need to have a sound baseline for tuning commences...

Default Been on my car for over a year. People who can discern a 5hp gain through the "butt" dyno must have

real sensitive butts or my Hitachi injectors must have been in Great condition. MPG remains the same 17/18 mixed city Highway driving. Mostly city with short distances traveled 75% of the time. Avg trip = 5 miles. NYC.
