I am used to the 90 sedan which had great manual ***** to blast the heat throught the center vents. my coupe heat seems weaker than the normal, (warm but not hot), and in all positions it only blows from the defrost and floor vents. Is their a way to rewire it for the center vents? does anyone else find the current heat to be an issue? The speed even in HIGH setting seems a bit weak compared to the 88 series manual *****.

I just had to have the Climate Control unit replaced on my '90 Coupe Quattro as it was stuck on defrost. The part cost $130 from Audi I was charged 2 hours Labor to fit it. The part is listed on my invoice as "Climate Ctrl Unit C" (part no: 443-820-504, not sure if that's the official Audi part #).

That may not be what is causing your problem but it doesn't hurt to get it checked out. I really like the climate control on my Coupe: it does a great job of keeping a constant interior temp.

I am pretty sure the heat is NOT supposed to come out of the center vents . Is yours now coming out strong from the center? Audi has told me that I cant even modify it to come out the center?

My CQ does exactly that. The heat, which I only recently started using, only comes out of the lower vents. I actually like it. I love opening the sunroof or moonroof (I never did take the time to understand the difference,) after I have the car heated up.

As for rewiring, perhaps something can be done, but it seems to me as thoug it would also require a little repluming as well (if it is not designed to to blow hot out of the center, then hot air would not be designed to be sent there.)
