So I spent my saturday wiring the RS2's with a trailer adapter so that the blinkers and the parking lights work, hard wiring my radar detector up near the rearview (I like it too much already) and finding a new place for my Ipod...this is what I came up with...actually works well.

why don't you just run in thru the center console and put it in the ashtray area?

Default 'cause I can rest my hand on the shifter and play with the Ipod this way...

It seems like this is a more natural place to have my hand...I have long arms though, might not work for everyone. I also have plans for the ashtray...I think it would make a good place for a triple cig. lighter adapter that can hide away when not in use!

Default How is it wired in to the sound system?

I'd like to be able to run my iPod directly in to my Audi stereo without having to either replace the head unit or come up with some sort of secondary amplifier. I have a cassette adaptor but the Audi stereo doesn't like it and ejects it every couple of minutes so that's out leaving me with direct wiring as the only other option. If I had more $$$ I'd get the new Alpin setup and a new iPod but that's not likely at the moment.

Default I found an adapter that...

hooks up to the antenna wire, you just pull the stereo out, plug the antenna into the adapter, then the adapter into the back of your radio...it needs a power source and ground, but there are lots of wires back there to pull power from. Search the audio and electronics forum, they have some good answers over there.

It seems like a great place for it.
