Alternator (belt?) failure, drained battery. Does your car have the volt meter? If so, what was/is it reading? Check your alt. belt, the output at the alternator, and the output at the battery. If the belt and batt. check ok, I'd maybe replace the voltage regulator first (on the back of the alt, held on by two screws, its maybe $20).

Default thanks...

I don't have the voltmeter. I thought of the alternator because the battery light was on, but I was curious as to why the other lights would come on as well. Anyway, I'll check it.

Howdy! Yeah this is usually a sign of low voltage, dying alternator, bad charging, so forth. Just had a battery lose it's charging abilities, but ran 14v solid when driving, next morning back to 8v and magically with two very weak cranks the 20v would roar to life, never seen an engine turn over so slowly and still start so well. I sniffed for a draw and nothing, plopped a new battery in and bingo. Sounds like a charging circuit problem.

Maybe yank the alternator and have it bench tested at the local FLAPS.

Good Luck!
