for some reason my audi 80 is idling extremely high.
when i start it it idles at around 2500 RPM and then if i test the throttle it hits around 4500 and sticks for a little while.
im 16 and dad does not want to have a bar of helping me.
ive spent alot of money on my audi already and i am stuck for ideas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

unplug your idle valve control while its idleling high if it drops then your ivc valve is stuck open. you can clean it out with a throttle body cleaner spray. dont try to close or open the valve with something metal, best bet is to spray in side and see if it works itself loose. you might want to cycle it off and on with a 12v source. there are positive (+) and negative (-) symbols on the connector on the ivc, dont reverse the the polarity could damage ivc.

what engine? and it sounds like you got a vac leak somewhere
