I searched the forum! Before I posted to natwhite! Found 201 previous posts covering "timing belt"! The first 10, answered his question!

I'm typing more here defending the search function!

Default well - the price is right

previous owner of mine had it done for around that. if the mechanics normally work on audis you will be fine.

I'd be very suprised if the dealer would install customer supplied parts. It's just a 12V V6...no rocket science to the timing belt. If they've never done a timing belt on any V6 Audi since 1992, that doesn't speak much for their service department.

If you do it yourself, it's about US$300 in parts (water pump, belt, thermostat, tensioner, idler). The worst part of the job is, in my experience, removing the waterpump gasket.
