Just heard that Audi has ONE last 20V B3 engine (tall block) they are trying to sell.
I guess they are discontinuing selling the engine direct from the factory with a warranty. Seems like quite a few dealerships will be trying to buy that engine as it will sell for under $1000.

Why is that interesting, if true at first place?
Why would a dealership buy that engine? its not like they are going to sell it as a whole and its not a historic piece to put it on the showroom floor either.

They want it for the same reason
people with no interest in sports buy tickets for the hot teams in any sport. To resell them. A dealer would know there is a demand for replacement engines out there and it they can make a buck, they don't really care how.
