Default Low oil pressurw warning...again

Well I get the low oil pressure warning ONLY at over 2000Rpm's?? This problem comes and goes,, sometimes in the same car trip. Also sometimes I can stop it by stoping my car and then floring it until i get to about 80km, prob goes away for a bit. If I keep my oil level UNDER 1/4 I never get the warning??

This is confusing the hell out of me.. Cant wait to get new pressure sender (2prong) and oil pressure guage so I can document it better..

Any sudjestions...could it be my low oil pressure relief valve, I hear they start to stick after a bit and can be removed and cleaned.

Any input is appriecated.

pressure relief valve works at high pressure, not low. If your 1.8bar pressure sender is functioning correctly, you might have a worn pump or clogged oil pick-up screen. When you floor it, the oil pump is working harder to pump, therefore probably suppling enough pressure to quiet the warning system.

Should test with a manual pressure guage...

because sufficient pressure has built up and stays built up.

Default you have to remove the oil pan, which is a bit of a pain...

because there are a lot of bolts including a couple up behind the flywheel. You have to rotate the crank until two holes in the flywheel line up with the bolts. You need a long 5mm hex tool to get at them. Careful not to round off any of the hex sockets either!
I'm not sure but maybe running an engine detergent would dissolve some of the build-up if there is any.

Default hard to tell in the pic

its like right behind the oil pan but on top of it in a tricky spot. that sensor checks the bar pressure so if it has a bad connection then in theory it would be saying your pressure is too low when really is is not. a handy thing to know in case you ever did start losing oil.
